Late/Absence Procedures
Late Pupils:
Pupils are marked as late (an L mark on the register) after the 8:50 bell has rung. If pupils arrive at school after 9:20, the absence is recorded as unauthorised for the whole of the morning session. This would then count as an unauthorised absence and would be included in a Fixed Penalty Warning/Fixed Penalty Notice.
Please note that being persistently late for school has a detrimental effect on your child's well-being and education.
Absent Pupils:
If your child is off sick, please ring the school office (01745 353392), leaving a message with your child's name, class teacher and reason for being absent for school. If your child is off school it is important that a reason is given as this will be placed on the register.
Sickness absence is usually recorded as authorised, but if there are several periods, the school nurse will become involved and they will ultimately be classed as unauthorised.
