Reception is made up of three different classes. These are:

RLR: Mrs L Roberts 

RHR/RBR: Mrs H Roberts/Mr B Rimmer

RLC: Mrs L Conway

Important Information

P.E.

PE kits consists of a white t-shirt, black shorts/black joggers and black pumps. Children are not permitted to wear earrings for P.E. Please remove at home prior to the lesson.

Children are to come to school dressed in their PE kits. Reception P.E day is Friday

Snack

Children are asked to come to school with a healthy snack for snack time. 

Please can your child come to school with a bottle of water to drink. 

All Reception children are entitled to a Free School Meal. Please refer to the menu on our website.

Mathematical development in Reception

In Reception the children learn about Maths through play and their daily experiences. Our environment both indoors and outdoors is full of Mathematical opportunities and has exciting things for the children to explore, sort, compare, count, calculate and describe. We use Numicon to support our teaching in Reception. The aim of Numicon is to  to equip all children with a deep, secure and adaptable understanding of Mathematical concepts.  Numicon is a multi sensory approach using apparatus to focus on imagery, action and conversation. It is designed to give children the understanding of number ideas and number relationships that are essential for success in Maths.
