The Curriculum Organisation
School Organisation
The curriculum is a continuum of learning although children take their progress at their own pace. The progression steps broadly align to these ages:
We have an appointed Head of Learning for each ‘Phase’.
Heads of Learning are responsible for supporting Curriculum Design within their department including ensuring appropriate coverage of the AoLEs, continuity and progression within their department.
Heads of Learning work as part of the SLT to contribute to the ‘bigger picture’, ensuring continuity and progression throughout the whole school.
The curriculum is based around four core purposes. The four purposes are that all children and young people are:
- Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
- Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
- Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
- Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
